Somehow I never believed any of that; I wanted a career and a small family and never believed religion was a way to identify good character. Hopefully you two will be on the same page and can be open with each other so that you have matching expectations. But I do believe in modern prophets and that God gives no commandment that is not for our own happiness.
The fact that she is dating an atheist non-Mormon shows pretty serious lack of conformity already. I haven't read every post like you probably havebut I've read a lot of them. Mormons are also taught "Families can be together forever. How is that gonna work. Trust yourself, trust God and enjoy the beautiful relationship that you have. Dude just to summarize what I think is the majority of the comments. And after years of this struggle, will your love for him and desire to avoid the hassle cause you to reduce your activation. I worry it will only be worse when the kids grow older.
I have learned this painfully with my child growing up in the LDS community. So I feel a little frightened after reading this blog. Follow your heart and live life with no regrets.
His whole family joined after he did. The woman gets fidgety after three days on vacation. These girls are nervous around non-Mormons. The woman I have feelings for is conflicted on her religion in regards to me. It all depends on the girl. She will be oh-so-grateful if you do not pressure her to discard those values. I agree with Rachel- this is not what I signed up for. How will this all be once we have children?. That doesn't get better unless you humble yourself, either -- admit you might be wrong. He is passionately loving - and he is "there" for me always.
